VAL DOONICAN: ROCKING (BUT GENTLY)

Val Doonican's gentle baritone voice and Irish humour endeared him to the British public.  His TV show ran for 25 years, during which time he was rarely out or the music charts, recorded dozens of albums and had a string of major hits with songs like Walk Tall, What Would I Be and Elusive Butterfly.  He also had great success with comic songs, including Paddy McGinty's Goat, and Delaney's Donkey.
